Jess Chalmers
Ballet
From the age of 2 Jess began training with JLD where she discovered her passion for dance. Throughout her childhood, she trained as a Royal Ballet School Junior Associate and then progressed to train at the prestigious Young Dancers Academy in London. She was also a member of Tap Attack Tap company which broadened her versatility alongside training in ISTD Tap and Modern at JLD. She also worked professionally in theatre (Billy Elliot, Matilda) film (Matilda the Musical - Netflix) and TV (The One Show, Got to Dance and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway). Her interest then shifted towards teaching and in September 2022 she began training at the Royal Academy of Dance, studying a BA Hons in Ballet Education and Licentiate of The Royal Academy of Dance. She is currently at Advanced 2 level ballet and will be working towards her Solo Seal award. She currently teaches RAD graded/vocational classes across Southwest London and looks forward to teaching at JLD which she has always called 'my home'.
